Meet Our Sponsor Sister, Rose

Did you know that we have a sponsor sister? Her name is Rose and she's a beauty.

Tabby's Place
Rose says "Hi"!

Rose lives at one of Mommy's favorite places on earth, Tabby's Place, located in Ringoes, NJ.  (We're going to have a post just about Tabby's Place in the future.) TP is a cage-free cat sanctuary that offers a home to kitties who would otherwise be on the street.  They have lots of "special needs" kitties, and one way TP gets donations is through sponsorships.

Well, Mommy is a sucker for kitties in need, so of course she has been sponsoring kitties for a few years now.  Rose is our current sponsor sister, and Mommy got to meet her in December when she went to visit to bring a whole boat load of donations! She was SO excited! (Mommy, not Rose. But maybe Rose was excited, too.)

Tabby's Place

Let me tell you a little bit about Rose. Rose is a beautiful Southern Belle from the state of Virginia. She spent her days in the sunshine, chasing her tail and doing all the things kittens do.  One day, something bad happened - she was hit by a car.  That horrible accident left her paraplegic and incontinent.  As time when by, her back legs got stronger and she could walk, but unfortunately, Rose can't tell when she needs to go to the bathroom. Her foster mommy in VA reached out to TP, and they had a place for Rose in their special needs suite.  So Rose found herself on her way to NJ to live in her new sanctuary with other special needs kitties. Even if she doesn't get adopted, she will have a forever home with all the staff and volunteers at TP who love her very much.  And of course, she has us!

Here are some photos of Rose that Mommy took when she met her.

Mommy bought Rose a catnip kicker for Christmas, and it was almost as big as her! We didn't know she is so petite.

Rose isn't our first sponsor sister, though.  A while back Mommy sponsored a kitty named Franny. Franny was a senior kittizen with lots of heath problems and a sweet purrsonality.  Mommy got to meet her, too.

After Franny went to the bridge, Mommy started sponsoring Hootz.  Unfortunately, Hootz passed away suddenly, so we didn't sponsor her for very long.  (Mommy did get to meet her too, though, on one of her visits to TP.)

So now we're sponsoring Rose! Rosie is a young kitty, so we're hoping she'll be a part of our family for a long time to come. But our paws are crossed that a very special family will come along that can adopt her and take care of her special needs.  After all, every kitty needs a forever family.

If you'd like to sponsor a kitty, you can see all the kitties needing sponsorship at Tabby's Place here or here .  Every month you get a special update about your kitty telling you what they've been up to and how they're doing.  We love it when Mommy reads Rosie's updates to us.  If you decide to be a sponsor, tell them Lola sent you! And please let us know, too. We would love to post about it on our Facebook page.

  1. I love Rose's markings - she is stunning! My human thinks your human is SO lucky to be able to visit Tabby's Place. She has always wanted to, but never had the time when she's been back east.

  5. That's so pawesome that you all sponsor kitties in need! Rose is a beauty, and we hope someone will welcome her into their home very soon. We also want to invite you to share about her for #WobblyWednesday - the hashtag party we host every week to raise awareness for special needs animals. All you have to do to participate is share a photo/video/story on any social media account (though Instagram is most popular) and use the #WobblyWednesday hashtag. It's a great place to share about adoptable special needs animals! We hope to see you next week!

  6. What a wonderful place! The lady is going to look it up to see how far it is from us. We're in PA but very close to NJ. Rose is lovely and you guys are the best for sponsoring her (and the others)!

  7. What nice markings on her! It look as though she is missing part of her tail. Did that happen in the accident? I hope she gets a forever home some day. I know a few cats that have had injuries such as hers, they all fared well as long as they can pass urine and stool ok.

  10. Wow - what a beautiful ladycat she is! She reminds me of another kitty whose blog I follow. I see a lot of these cute TP kitties on my Facebook feed from "Auntie Lisa's" profile. They are cute and fun to watch. :)

Tabby's Place is a favorite place of ours, too. We support them, and it was such a treat when we got to visit a few years ago.

  12. Rosie looks a little bit like me, she could be my sister.. Sponsering a kitten is new for us. We don't have that in the Netherlands, but this is such a wonderful way to help animals :)
Thanks for coming to my Pawty, Lola and Lexy. It made my birthday just a little bit more special. Pawkisses :) <3
