Hello Bearden! Since today is Not Of My Species Day, I thought it would be a great day to introduce you to our blogging friends. Welcome to our blog and thanks for joining me. Ok, can you tell everyone what species you are and where you originate from?
I am a bearded dragon and my breed originates from Australia!
Bearden close up |
How old are you?
I am 10 months old!
Who do you live with?
I live with my mom, grandma, 9 sisters, and 2 brothers!
Can you tell us a little about your habitat?
Yes! I live in a 50-gallon tank with vita sand, 2 basking rocks, a half log, and a food bowl! And I get misted often and take many baths!
Bearden in his tank |
Yes I do but not to often I just mainly snuggle with mommy!
Do you play with your cat and dog siblings?
No, I don't because it is in their natural instincts to hunt and mommy says that she doesn't want me to get hurt! But they do like to watch me when I'm in my tank!
What do you like to eat? I heard you like hornworms and crickets! Where does your mom get those? Are they easy for you to chew?
My favorite foods are crickets, hornworms, mustard greens, strawberries, and I just found out that I like watermelon! My mommy buys my fruits a veggies at food lion and she gets my crickets at PetSmart. But she buys my hornworms online! Yes, it is all very easy to chew!
How many times a day do you eat?
I only eat once a day for dinner but when I was a baby I would have a small breakfast and a good sized dinner!
Can you tell us what a typical day is for a bearded dragon?
A typical day for me is to sleep most of the day away and then get lots of cuddles from mommy! Oh and I can't forget dinner! I love food!
Now, people may be wondering if bearded dragons are affectionate. Do you let your mom hold you?
Yes! I love when my mommy picks me up! She cuddles with me all the time!
Silly Bearden with greens on his head! |
My mommy basically saved me from PetSmart. The lady that worked there took very good care of me, but the place that I was transported from did not. So when I arrived at PetSmart I was under distress. It took me a while to trust mommy but now I love her to death! And she loves me! I have my moments of not wanting to be touched at all but I'm good most of the time!
Is there anything else you think people should know about bearded dragons?
Well the only other thing that they should know is that we do need a lot of care. And we are not cheap! You have to make sure that we have the right light setup and all the right accessories! But other than that we are very loving!
Thank you, Bearden. It was a pleasure interviewing you.
Ok, friends, now that you have met Bearden, you can follow him on Instagram to keep up with his daily activities in Nash County NC with his mom, Gracie. We love keeping an open mind and making all kinds of different friends.
Do you have a friend that is not of your species?
Lexy
My human loves bearded dragons - actually she loves ALL lizards! I keep her busy, which is probably the only reason she doesn't have any.

ReplyDeleteSomeone at Petsmart had one of those in a beautiful case when we visited it! Gorgeous looking creature!!
ReplyDeleteCute. I don't mind lizards, though never had one as a pet and I think I'd miss the fur.
ReplyDeleteSO I will reveal myself here: I have always pondered getting a beardie. I loved reading your interview.

Bearden is very cute! My daughter has always wanted a Bearded dragon. I'm sure she will get one someday soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting interview. We didn't know much about bearded dragons.

ReplyDeleteBearden is so cool! I love lizards. If I could have a whole zoo of pets in my home, I would. He sounds like he is a great companion and he loves his life. :)
ReplyDeleteBearden is very handsome. I had a lizard I cuddled as a kid in Australia - it lived in the garden but loved warmth. We will be featuring reptiles in our new Kids' Pet Club project.
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing us to Bearden, Lexy. I love reptiles, well, maybe not snakes so much. I used to have an iguana and really enjoyed him.
ReplyDeleteDang, sorry I missed this post, it was darn good and very interesting!!! Howdy Bearden!
ReplyDeleteBearden is absolutely cool. We have seen bearded dragons on TV but this was way better. Thanks for sharing his story. We are now following him. We want to see some of those cuddles with his mom. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
