National Cat Day 2016
Hello and Happy Saturday Caturday! Today is a great day – it’s National Cat Day! In 2005 National Cat Day was founded by Pet and Family Lifestyle Expert & Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige to help bring attention to the number of cats that need to be rescued each year. Ever since then National Cat Day is celebrated on October 29 to celebrate cats and help them find forever homes. Of course we couldn’t resist participating!

Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings Savory Mousse Review - #ChewyInfluencer
Hello everyone. This is Lexy checking in with our monthly Chewy.com review. This month I chose something I thought would be yummy; Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings Savory Mousse. Humans have chocolate mousse and now kitties have a mousse they can enjoy.
We got the tuna and goat milk variety, but Chewy.com also carries chicken, chicken liver, salmon, whitefish and shrimp, all with goat milk.

Want a Happy Cat? Have an Odor Free Home! #CLUMPandSEAL
This post is sponsored by ARM & HAMMER™ and the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network™. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about ARM & HAMMER CLUMP & SEAL™ available at PetSmart®, but Lola The Rescued Cat only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Arm & Hammer and PetSmart are not responsible for the content of this article.
Hello everyone. This is Lexy checking in with some information on a great product that we here at the White House love – ARM & HAMMER™ CLUMP & SEAL™ odor sealing litter. We are a multi-cat household that shares a one-bedroom apartment with a human, which means there are not a lot of options to hide the litter box. It also means it’s hard to hide litter box odors. That is until ARM & HAMMER™ CLUMP & SEAL™ odor sealing litter came to the rescue.
A stinky litter box sets the tone for the household. As you can see, Lola and I were not happy when litter box odors took over the apartment, and neither was Mother. She would constantly spray air freshener, or worse yet, she’d buy perfumey litter to try to cover up the smell. (That only resulted in flowery scented poop.) Not good. Once we discovered ARM & HAMMER™ CLUMP & SEAL™ we were much happier cats, and Mother was a much happier person.

Selfie Sunday With a Tabby's Place Kitty
Hello and Happy Sunday! We haven't participated in Selfie Sunday in a while, but we're back - with a special guest! Not long ago Mommy went to visit Tabby's Place in NJ and when she was there she asked a very special kitty to pose for a selfie.
Raja is a long time resident of Tabby's who Mommy fell in love with in 2011, and during her visit she asked Raja if she would like to sit for a selfie. Mommy had a copy of our book with her and Raja was excited to pose with it.
I'm going to try to pose just like Lola for my selfie. |

A Visit to Koneko Cat Cafe in NYC With CWA Members
On Tuesday I told you about BlogPurr, a wonderful cat writer's event I attended here in NYC. After the sessions were over we ended our day with a visit to Koneko Cat Cafe on the Lower East Side. It was the purrfect end to a purrfect day, and I loved spending quality time with some of my favorite bloggers - and friends!
I only had my cell phone with me that day, so I apologize for the quality of the photos. I took so many and I had a hard time choosing a few for this post.
Koneko is located at 26 Clinton Street between E. Houston (That's "House"-ton) and Stanton. Don't blink, because you may pass it.

BlogPurr Cat Writer's Event in New York City
Last month I was very lucky to be invited to a cat writer's event here in New York City, BlogPurr, sponsored by Merck.
It was a very intimate gathering of ten bloggers, most of whom were friends that I was very happy to get to spend time with again. The speakers included veterinarians and a cat behavior expert, and we discussed topics such as learning the secrets behind common cat behaviors, information on the latest treatment for protecting cats from parasites, making trips to the vet easier for cats, and understanding reasons why cats receive less health care than dogs.

Animal Assisted Psychotherapy
One day as I was browsing through Instagram I came across the profile for @julie.wilson.indigo. I was intrigued to read that Julie Wilson is a psychologist who utilizes Animal Assisted Psychotherapy (AAP). As a mental health professional and an animal lover I was interested to learn more about Julie’s work so I reached out to her. Julie graciously agreed to be interviewed for my blog and explain more about this wonderful approach.
