Hello, and Happy Monday! You all know that Lexy is the expert reviewer here at Lola The Rescued Cat, but today I thought I’d try my paw at it. (I hope she'll be proud of me!)
The nice people at Holistic Health Extension contacted us about trying out their food. Before we agreed, I checked them out to see if their food is something we can stand behind. Well, I’m happy to report that it is! Read on to see why.
Grain Free Recipes for Cats
First, I’m going to start with the yummy stuff! Health Extension has both canned and dry food for cats. We received a bag of Turkey, Salmon, and Chickpea. And oh boy, was it yummy!
Mommy filled the bowl before she went to bed and the next morning it was empty. Not a crumb in site! Who do you think licked the bowl clean? Lexy or me?
Health Extension’s Grain Free Dry Recipe, which is for both adult cats and kittens, includes ingredients that have been carefully chosen for their nutritional benefits. This recipe is made with whole vegetables and fruits, coconut oil, flavored with turmeric, apple cider vinegar, and ginger, and is available in 4 lb. and 15 lb. bags

We also tried their canned food. I had a choice of several flavors, and I chose the Chicken and Pumpkin because... well… I have constipation from time to time and I thought this would help pass things along. I have one word for this food; Yummo! Don’t believe me? Just check out this video!
Believe me now? If Chicken and Pumpkin isn’t your cat’s favorite flavor, you can also choose from Chicken & Salmon, Chicken & Tuna, Chicken & Duck, Tilapia & Tuna, and Tuna & Prawns.

My cat seems like to fishy flavors and my dog loves the different proteins like bison, venison and duck
ReplyDeleteI need to look for this for Prancie, she is allergic to everything.
ReplyDeleteI like that this is good for sensitive stomach. My cat likes salmon or shrimp the best.
ReplyDeleteI think my three cats like chicken the best. I have three dogs, and they all love chicken, too, but are more likely to eat other protein flavors, too.
ReplyDeleteRabbit is the flavor my cats like most.
ReplyDeleteMy cat love everything but they really like fish flavored food!
ReplyDeleteWe've never heard of this brand before - but it sounds like a great one - with a real commitment to animal wellness and environmental responsibility. The best part? Both you girls loved it!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great brand and company. Glad you liked the food!
ReplyDeleteMy dogs will eat anything. They really do prefer a salmon flavored food though.
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with this food, but it sounds great and I love that they are part of the pet sustainability coalition. Rosie likes variety so I would love to try this.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of chicken and pumpkin. So happy to see your kitty enjoyed the products that are obviously a healthy option!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fantastic food for cats! We recently switch Penny to a holistic dog food and she is doing wonderfully on it.
ReplyDeleteLove this, how good to find a good holistic cat food you will eat. We cants can be very fussy to for stuff to disappear IT'S GOOD!
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy! I like that they've added apple cider vinegar to their recipe. We've actually been adding it to everyone's food and water here to help with fleas! Glad you guys found a food that you like!
ReplyDeleteI love that list of what is NOT in their food. There are so many big brands that add a ridiculous amount of grains and fillers and just well, crap, to their foods.
ReplyDeleteI love all the great blogs by Lola especially when we get to enter a giveaway! Thanks for keeping us updated on all the latest products, Lola!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a pescatarian. I like tuna and salmon and salmon and tuna. Looks like Lexy liked the kibble. I love kibble too but TW rations it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a big hit with your cats! My cat seems to like salmon and other fish, but my mom's cat only likes chicken flavored cat food.
ReplyDeleteYou make this food look really yummy! Great job with your review, Lola. :) It is so cool that you found a high-quality food that is manufactured so close to home. Keeping local companies accountable for what they produce is a lot easier than trying to get results with a company that does their manufacturing overseas.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand before, but it looks yummy. We don't eat too much "fish" food but Mom Paula lets us eat it on occasions. We'd love to try this out.
ReplyDeletei dont have cats, but would donate this to the pet food bank. however, i do use a brand of wellness, Holistic Select for my dogs thus i think this is a great brand for cats as well.
ReplyDeleteThat's a new food on us too!
