If you’re still undecided about attending the 10th Annual BlogPaws Conference, this post will definitely change your mind. This year even veteran attendees will be blown away!
The Cat Lounge
Let’s start with the Cat Lounge. (Where else would a cat-focused blogger start?) Many already know that Kate Benjamin, who puts together the purrfect Cat Lounge every year, is experiencing health issues and cannot be at the conference in person. But never fear, cat lovers! Kate is working behind the scenes with a group of volunteers to make sure the lounge is in full swing! There will be incredible cat furniture, crafts, fashion, products, giveaways, and special goodies for all to enjoy. Here’s where it gets exciting! This year an animal seer and communicator will be in attendance. My friend, Coryelle Kramer, will be doing readings in the Cat Lounge.
Coryelle is an animal lover to her core and is gifted in her ability to connect with animals. Lola and Lexy love meowing with her, and I’m sure they have their secrets, too! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
An Experiential Conference
This year brings lots of hands-on events. For the first time there will be “Experiential Areas” set up in the exhibit hall. Conference attendees will have opportunities to visit a patio area, a kitchen, a living room, and an office. Each of these areas will have fun things to do and check out as well as brands to engage with, which will be a nice way to get to know the brand representatives in a more relaxed atmosphere. More exciting things will be announced, so be on alert for the newsletters.Tips and Tricks for Attending a BlogPaws Conference
This will be my fourth time attending a BlogPaws conference, and I’ve learned some tips along the way to make the experience fun and less stressful. Here are a few (in no particular order):- Don’t forget your business cards. You’ll be doing a lot of networking with brands and other bloggers and you’ll definitely want to give them your contact information.
- Be yourself when speaking with brands. I was so nervous during my first conference that I could barely speak to the brand representatives. After introducing yourself tell them a little about your blog and why their product interests you. If you’re unfamiliar with them, ask questions! They won’t mind.
- Don’t be afraid to approach other bloggers. I literally only knew one person at my first conference, but I knew who other bloggers were because we visited each other’s blogs. After I approached someone and said “I’m Dawn White from Lola The Rescued Cat” I was welcomed with opened arms – literally! Animal loving people are kind and generous, and you will never feel alone.
- Pack light and make a list! To say I used to overpack is an understatement! It just created more chaos for me in my room and caused unnecessary anxiety when it came to choosing outfits and accessories. Make a list of everything you will need, broken down into categories, and plan your outfits ahead of time. You’ll be fine without three extra pairs of pants, I promise! Then you’ll have room for the tons of swag you’ll be bringing home. (And I hear the swag bags are shaping up nicely.)
- Plan your schedule ahead of time on Sched.org. Check out all of the great sessions that are offered and the events that are scheduled ahead of time on sched.org so you can have an idea of what you want to attend. This makes planning your days (and evenings!) stress-free and you’ll be more relaxed. You can save your schedule on the home screen of your phone and it will always be at your fingertips. I can’t wait to attend Carol Bryant’s session on "How to Make Money with Affiliate Marketing" as well as Facebook Ad Essentials with Elizabeth Keene. (Curious about the other speakers? Check them out here.)
Sponsors I’m Excited to Meet and Chat With
In my role as the cat-focused General Ambassador, I’ll be networking with both the cat-focused attendees as well as the brands and sponsors. The sponsor list continues to grow, and I’m super excited that Chewy is sponsoring the conference. I’ve been a part of their Influencer program for a few years and I’ve enjoyed getting to know both Sydney and Natalie. I can’t wait to see what Chewy brings to the conference. Another sponsor I’m looking forward to seeing again is Helen Woodward Animal Center. After meeting them last year I participated in their Remember Me Thursday campaign. I'll also be chatting with Petmate because I really love their products. There are many more sponsors as well. For a complete list visit BlogPaws' Twitter List here. (I'll be giving them a shout out on Twitter!)Mark your calendars today!

I'm so excited about this year's BlogPaws, and so is my human! I am trying to convince her that we don't need to get a room and we can just stay in the Cat Lounge the whole time we are there. I don't think I've sold her on that yet.
ReplyDeleteI know y'all will have a total blast!
ReplyDeleteWe're excited! And YAY! for our feline ambassador!
ReplyDeleteWish I could go! Maybe next year?!?
ReplyDeletePack light... Good advice. A few nip mice and a blankie and a cat like me is all set! purrs
ReplyDeleteThe mom is looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun new things! Having a live or flat version of your pet helps as people tend to recognize you!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will be great. I can't leave my cats to go.
ReplyDeleteI would love it but...cat sitting is $67.00 for 4 visits @ 2 days, twice a day. I have her fed twice a day. Then the accommodations and so on...plus plane fare. Would LOVE to go. Can't afford it though. XXX But I sure love reading about other's who go. Always a pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI just found out about BlogPaws and am about to be a new dad, so I won't be able to make it this year.
ReplyDeleteThe Cat Lounge looks wonderful! I'm pretty intrigued about Coryelle's readings and wish I could be there this year. You will all have a blast, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI attended BlogPaws on the east coast and really enjoyed the event. My dog loved watching Spookie Buddies on the big screen. It was so funny when the dogs in the audience barked at the puppies in the movie. We even got to hold a Spookie Buddy. Enjoy your time at BlogPaws!
ReplyDeleteSorry I won't be at the BlogPaws conference this year as I hoped. I hope to make it next year it sounds so exciting. I will definitely be following along all the action online thoug. Have fun and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI remember meeting you in Nashville! You have created a great list for people. It cannot be emphasized enough, LEAVE ROOM FOR SWAG! The airline actually bent the frame of my checked suitcase on the way back from Myrtle Beach last year. Yes, bent the suitcase frame it was so overstuffed with swag.. LOL
ReplyDeleteI know it will be a great deal of fun for everyone. Wish I could be there but I will enjoy everyone else's experiences through their blogs. XX
ReplyDeleteI'm super xCITED!!!!
ReplyDeleteand to be able to see your mom Lola & Lexy and some of my other pawsome clients...well, that's just the BOMB-digiditty!
Asking me to pick what I’m most excited about regarding the BlogPaws Conference is like asking me to pick a favorite book! Practically impossible! I’m looking forward to meeting people and pets who I’ve only virtually met through BlogPaws. I want to learn more about Amazon Affiliates too. I’m psyched about the podcasting and SEO sessions. I’m just looking forward to immersing myself in this pet blogger world for three whole days!
ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT to be there! I was so involved with Remember Me Thursday simply sharing and making my movie. Seeing them to say thank you for being so awesome will be splendid indeed. I am booked to speak to Coryelle and I hope not to be too nervous to speak to sponsors this year!!!
ReplyDeleteSee you there!
I will one day make it. I keep hoping the next one will be a tad closer to the Canadian border... :) Also ... it has to be once I decide that my blog is more than a hobby you know? Have a blast and enjoy! I look forward to hearing ALL about your experience.
ReplyDeleteOne of these years, we will be back at Blog Paws. It sounds like this year's conference is going to be awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe wish we could attend, but we cannot. We're looking forward to reading everyone's posts about that pawsome event ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteYou make an excellent ambassador and this year's event looks like it will be Pawesome! I agree with how great the sessions are, how friendly everyone is and not over packing (guilty) or forgetting to print enough new business cards (oops). It is a wonderful opportunity to speak to sponsors who are keen to speak to us or they would not be there.
ReplyDeleteWe have been blogging for 9 years now and have not yet had a chance to make BlogPaws. We hope you guys all have the best time ever!
ReplyDeletePurrs
Marv and Mom
Last year was my first time going to BlogPaws. The speakers were all so interesting and inspiring. I loved learning about the sponsors, and I was really pleased at all the ways many of them give back to help animals. The cat lounge was amazing. The sense of community is pretty amazing, even though I was meeting most everyone for the first time.
ReplyDeleteI'm truly looking forward to BlogPaws this year. Because of some issues, I won't be able to stay as long as I originally planned, but I plan on enjoying everything to the best of my ability. I can't wait to meet Coryelle in person! She's talked to Praline, Truffle, and Brulee. I can't wait to see you again!
ReplyDeleteThose "experiential areas" sound cool, Miss Dawn! I hope they have lots of places for kitties to lounge on that are coming to the conference with their humans. Maybe they could have a catio too? You'll be great at the conference as an ambassador by the way! Hugs! -Valentine (& Mom) of Noir Kitty Mews
ReplyDeleteThis conference sounds amazing! I’m so sad I can’t be there! I hope you all have a fantastic time and I look forward to hearing all about it!
ReplyDeleteI love the conference, I always learn so much & meet so many great people! I like the idea of the Experiential areas, that sounds exciting.
