I was going to let Mother do the review since she tricked us and ordered something that was not a yummy treat. But I know how you all love my reviews, so I decided to do it.
When the folks at Chewy asked Mother if she wanted to give the FURminator deShedding Edge Cat Brush a try, she quickly said yes as she mumbled something about hoping it would cut down on my hairballs.
Pffftt... so there are a few stains on the new carpet. What's the big deal?
Okay, so let's dive into the review. The FURminator deShedding Edge Cat Brush is a weekly de-shedding tool that removes the loose, dead undercoat from your cat (or dog, but I'm talking about cats today) without cutting or damaging our topcoat.
When our undercoat is de-shedded the amount of hair we shed is reduced, which helps decrease hairball formation. The FURminator decreases shedding by 90%.
The stainless steel de-shedding edge reaches deep beneath our short topcoat and gently removes undercoat and loose hair.
It's easy to release the hair, too. All you have to do is push the release button....
... and the hair is gone!
Mother did just two passes down Lola's and my back, and this is the hair that came off.
I do have to admit that it's better to see all that hair in a pile on the floor instead of my tummy.
FURminator deShedding Tool Features:
- It is designed especially for cats so we can be groomed with ease.
- The stainless steel deShedding edge reaches deep beneath our short topcoat and gently removes undercoat and loose hair.
- It reduces hairballs by 90%, keeping us healthier and happier.
- It's guaranteed to reduce shedding better than any brush, rake or comb.
- Humans will like the ergonomic handle which fits nicely in your hand. Cats like the curved edge that conforms to our shape. Grooming is comfortable for everyone!
- Patented technologies, designed by a groomer for professional results.
You can get a FURminator deShedding Edge Cat Brush for your cat at Chewy.com for $30.28. That's 13% off the regular list price. As always, shipping is free for orders of $49 and more, and Chewy’s customer service is terrific.

One of my cats gets so many hairballs; the other one gets a lot less.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an especially good new grooming tool! Boodie could probably use it.
ReplyDeleteI got one of these maybe three years ago after a horrible shedding season. I can't believe how much fur it gets! But I've also noticed a few bald spots since I started using it. I also don't like how heavy the brush part is - I've accidentally knocked a squirming cat in the head with that. Bear still struggles with hairballs - but not nearly as bad as he would.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have one of those but it's no where to be found, they sure work good though!
ReplyDeleteWe have one, and it's a great tool indeed ! Good luck to our US friends for that pawsome giveaway ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteI had one for Eric and Flynn. Eric went crazy for it as soon as he saw me get it out. He must have thought it was the ultimate in back scritches.
ReplyDeleteNow you've reminded the mom that she needs to furminate us!
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a lotta fur, and much better in a pile than in your tummy! Mudpie sheds like crazy but thankfully doesn't have too many hairballs. During the summer I do a lot of brushing.
ReplyDeleteWe love our furminator. I will skip the giveaway because we have one :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a Furminator here, and it works like a charm! Gracie just got Furminated today. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, my cats do get furballs. I have a Furminator for my dogs and LOVE it, but it's just too big for my cats. I would love one for my cats, too!

We have one of these in the house...somewhere...I wonder where it is?
ReplyDeleteGreat review! We have one already, so we won't enter the giveaway. But good luck to everyone who enters!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to try one of these! Rosie doesn't get hairballs very often, fortunately. Mr. Teddy hasn't had any hairballs either, but he is a sheds more than Rosie
ReplyDeleteYes! Our cat gets a lot of hairballs. I would love to give this a try. Would make our life and our poor cat's life easier.
