When I attended Global Pet Expo last March, I had the opportunity to see so many cat-related products! I had the opportunity to visit the Oxyfresh booth and after chatting with their team, I knew these were products I could stand behind and share with my readers.
Oxyfresh Products for People and Pets
I received a box full of products to test out with Lola and Lexy, and in my house as well. Here's a little spoiler; I wasn't disappointed with any of them! The folks at Oxyfresh graciously send me their All-Purpose Deodorizer, Pet Dental Water Additive, Ear Cleaner, and Pet Deodorizer.
The Oxyfresh Difference
What makes Oxyresh products stand out from the rest? The magic is in their formulation. Oxyfresh is the only company that has Oxygene® in their products. Oxygene® is a non-toxic, safe, odorless, flavorless, and powerful ingredient that neutralizes odors rather than covering them up by eliminates odors at the source. When Oxygene® comes in contact with hydrogen sulfide (odor-causing) molecules, it oxidizes them and converts them into sulfite ions (odor-free). Oxyfresh also uses Oxygene® in its dental products to neutralize volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) – the rotten-smelling bacterial by-products responsible for bad breath. Oxygene® safely oxidizes these compounds, eliminating the odor. Lola's breath can be a little funky at times, so I was hoping this could help!
Many of Oxyfresh's products are cruelty-free, non-toxic, and eco-friendly which regular readers of the blog will know I love. Each ingredient is carefully selected based on quality, potency, and absorption. Let's take a look at each of the products I received.
All-Purpose Deodorizer
This versatile formula can be used on multiple services including kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, carpets, pet areas, and cars.
The ingredients are Water (Aqua), Sodium Chlorite (Oxygene® - Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide), Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Phosphate, and Sodium Hydroxide. There are no harsh chemicals or overpowering fragrances. I used mine in my car. I practically live in my car because of my commute and driving from worksite to worksite during the day. That means I drink (and spill) a lot of coffee and frequently eat while I'm driving, and at times my car ends up stinking. The All-Purpose Deodorizer really freshened things up! I sprayed it on the seats and carpets, and it left a fresh scent and all of the odors where gone. I'm thinking of leaving it in the trunk so it's close at hand for a quick refresh when I need to give someone a ride.
Pet Deodorizer
I don't know about your cats, but Lola and Lexy take offense when I say things get a little stinky around the house. But when you have pets, odors happen. This fragrance free deodorizer neutralizers odors in 60 seconds. The ingredients are Water (aqua), Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide (Oxygene®), Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex. You can use it to neutralize odors on pet bedding, carpets, couches, kennels, and anywhere pet odors may creep up. Oxyfresh says it can even be used directly on pets.
I used it in the litter box. I love that it's fragrance free and doesn't make Lola sneeze or exacerbate her chronic upper respiratory issues. I use a super clumping litter, and if a deodorizer gets in the way of that it gets a thumbs down from me. I'm happy to report Oxyfresh's Pet Deodorizer gets two thumbs up from me in every area and I think I've found a replacement for my previous litter box deodorizer!
Both the All-Purpose and the Pet Deodorizer come with a trigger sprayer for easy application.
Pet Ear Cleaner
When Lola saw the ear cleaner, she wasn't very happy!
Lola gets wax buildup in her ears, and they tend to get dirty. Cleaning her ears is never fun, but it's easier with a product I like. Oxyfresh's Pet Ear Cleaner is alcohol and fragrance-free and is non-toxic. I don't have to worry about rinsing any residue off or about her ingesting any accidentally.
I just squirt a little on a cotton ball and wipe out her ears. Very easy. This product is for use on both cats and dogs and is veterinarian approved.

Pet Dental Water Additive
I'm always jealous when cat parents tell me they brush their cats' teeth. Never in a million years will I be able to do this with Lola and Lexy (and I've tried!) They've both had dental cleanings and extractions in the past three years. Lexy is going on 12 and Lola is 10, and I'm hoping I can avoid them going under anesthesia. Since I cannot brush their teeth I'm frequently on the lookout for something that can help keep their teeth and gums healthy. (And don't tell Lola I said this, but help with her breath!)
The Pet Dental Water Additive is tasteless and odorless, freshens breath, and cleans teeth and gums with no brushing. The ingredients are Water (Aqua), Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide (Oxygene®), Zinc Acetate, Sodium Citrate, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate.
All you need to do is add one capful per liter of water to your pet's water bowl. (The 16-ounce bottle has 64 capfuls.) I asked the Oxyfresh team how this would work for me if I use a fountain. Their recommendation was to remove the filter from the fountain. At first I wasn't on board with this, but after thinking about it I was more flexible because I fill the fountain with filtered water. I change the water a little more frequently than usual when I'm not using the fountain. Currently I'm using the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain and I haven't had an issue using the additive. I do switch fountains from time to time, and depending on the fountain and size of the reservoir I may or may not use the additive. The girls don't know the difference when I do and their water intake remains the same.
Does it work? Well, Lola's breath is much better when I do! Regarding tartar buildup, I haven't been using it long enough to be able to tell if there is a difference with that. Paws crossed that they get clean dental bills of health at their next vet appointment!
The Final Verdict
I think you can all guess that I give all of the products I received from Oxyfresh two thumbs up. If I had to choose a favorite it would be the Pet Deodorizer. I use this at least once daily, sometimes twice, and it really keeps the odors in the litter box at bay. Although that one is my favorite I do recommend all of them.
