Working From Home With Cats - Part 1

Hello, everyone. This is Lexy checking in. It has been quite some time since I've taken over the blog, and I must say it's been just too long! I've missed chatting with you all.

Today starts Mother's fifth week at home while New York is paused. Just like in most states, humans here are practicing social distancing and unless they are essential employees they are supposed to stay home. Mother is very lucky and very grateful to be able to continue her job from home. I've decided to start a little series on the blog called "Working From Home With Cats" because, in my opinion, Mother is very lucky to have me as an assistant.

Here I am, ready to start the day! I had a lot of ideas for the morning staff meeting. Silly Mother tried to tell me that they're her staff, not mine. I think the department knows who the real boss is.

I had to keep mother on her toes. She tried to take an extended coffee break. Can you imagine?

It was an exhausting day! I worked my little paws off. I think I deserved a break, don't you?

I'm sure you're wondering what Lola was doing. She tries to talk Mother into calling in sick in the morning! She just doesn't want to get her lazy butt out of bed. (She can be a little bit of a whiner, but don't tell her I told you that.)

What are your kitties doing during social distancing? Are they your office assistants?

  1. Lexy and Lola, it's really hard to keep a human on track, isn't it?
Sweetie continues, however, to contribute her snores to my conference calls, and Da Boyz are very good at covering my work clothes with fur!
    Hardworking cats!

  6. I already am in charge of my human's office at home! My biggest problem is I'm stuck at home with her. I prefer our on the road gigs, which aren't possible right now.

  7. You did a very good job keeping your mum working.

  8. OMC I love this idea! What purrfect little co-workers. I could work from home too, but there are only 3 of us in the office and I live super close so I volunteered to be the one to hold down the fort, take care of mail and deposits, etc. I'm actually enjoying my time alone in the office!

  10. Lexy, you are a sunbeam this morning with your news about your Mom and about your progress getting on with work. You attention to the asthetics in the room, the tupperware, is admirable too. Taking time from your busy day to make everything right is the sign of a born professional manager. You are all business during the work day which of course, is how things get done. Thank heavens she has you to help!

  13. I feel yoor pain! My mommy always works from home, and keeping her on track is extremely diffy-cult. She is always bouncing up for coffee and to feed geese and raccoon babies, and break up a fight where Wabbit is trying to take a toy away from somebuddy else. I pwetty much stay in our office and keep working. Unlike momma, I don't need caffeine to be cweative.

  15. Good job, Lexy and Lola! Lexy, we like that you are keeping Mom on track with her work. And Lola, way to make sure Mom is getting her rest and down time. :)
