When you live in an apartment, there are times when the air isn't very fresh. The space is small and odors tend to linger in the air. Cooking a delicious meal can result in smelling onions for days, and litter box odors can be a bit overwhelming at times. When pet hair and dust are added it can get very stuffy and smelly very quickly. I tend to experience winter allergies during the colder months, with a runny nose and frequent sneezes. I also have a sneezy cat (Lola), and her upper respiratory issues worsen when she's around dust. I
Disclosure: We received an Air Max 8L Air Purifier from Okaysou in exchange for our fair and honest review. Okaysou is not responsible for the contents of this post. Lola The Rescued Cat only shares information we feel will be of interest to our readers.
I had been wanting to try an air purifier for a while, so when the folks at Okaysou asked if I wanted to partner with them for a review I was happy to say yes.
Okaysou AirMax8L Air Purifier
The Okaysou AirMax 8LAir Purifier is a multi-use air cleaner, odor eliminator, and air deodorizer that captures 99.97% of air pollutants such as dust, pollen, smoke, pet dander and hair, and household odors.
With the ability to eliminate odors and air irritants as small as 0.25 microns, the AirMax8L will definitely freshen up your home.
Key Features
The AirMax8L has many features that make this a beneficial item to have in your home, including the following:
- Advanced turbine motor with 45 vanes, creative internal structure, and larger air inlet area (14.17 x 9.52 inches). What does that mean for you? These all work together, taking in more air to effectively remove pet hair, stubborn odors, and smoke in your home. The result is a relief in symptoms such as a runny nose, congestion, shortness of breath, and sneezing.
- The three speed fan circulates air up to 1.5x per hour in a room size of 800 sq. ft, 3x per hour in 500 sq. ft, and 5x per hour in 320 sq. ft. Can be used in small to large rooms anywhere in your home.
- Safely breaks down various harmful gases, such as formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene, and VOCs than other 3-stage filters can’t do.
- The unit is developed with Silenceboos Technology, which means you can "touch it and forget it." The AirMax8L will purify your home with the lowest noise level of 22dB, providing you with undisturbed sleep.
- Compact modern design that fits in any room, any home.
- You can rest easy when the unit is running because it offers superior safety. The AirMax8L is CE, FCC, ETL, and CARB certified and is 100% Ozone Free.
- Bonus features include child lock, sleep mode, and a filter replacement indicator.
Additional Information
- Weighs 13.73 pounds and measures 12.9 x 7.1 x 19.4 inches.
- It comes with a 5-year warranty plus lifetime US-based customer support.
Perfect for Pet Owners
One of my goals for the blog is to bring our readers information on products that help both pets and their people live happy, healthy lives. The AirMax8L is the perfect item to achieve that. The 3-Stage Ultra Filtration and 2-Stage Duo Filtration system is designed to capture pet dander and pet hair that can cause breathing problems. Cleaner air equals easier breathing!
People aren't the only ones who suffer from allergies, pets do too! Now you can have quality airflow for all household members.
My Experience
My first impression of the AirMax8L was how lightweight it is. I live in a third floor walk-up and when it arrived the first thought that popped into my head was "Oh great. Now I have to lug this up the steps." I was pleasantly surprised to feel how lightweight it is, which makes it very easy to move from room to room.
The slim design is another feature I like. It can fit in a small room easily and does not look bulky and unsightly. It blends in nicely and does not take up any room at all.
The first test for my air purifier was a dinner filled with peppers, onions, and garlic. As I mentioned in the intro, this usually results in smelling onions for days. And I mean throughout the entire apartment. There's nothing worse than walking into your home and thinking "it really stinks in here!"
I made sure the unit was on before I started cooking and left it running for a while after I was done. I couldn't believe how fresh the air smelled afterward. The next day when I walked in after work I didn't smell the previous evening's dinner.
Our litterbox is in our living room, which means I always worry about that smell cat owners are familiar with. I put a lot of effort into hiding our litter area and I don't want litter box odors to be unpleasant to visitors. No worries there with the AirMax8L. It works extremely well at eliminating irritating pet odors.
After using my air purifier for a couple of weeks, I actually saw less dust on my furniture and floors and fewer balls of the girls' fur in corners and under tables. I also noticed an improvement in my winter allergy symptoms. Lola's sneezes come and go, so it was a little difficult to determine if there was any improvement with her in a short amount of time.
The Final Verdict
I give the AirMax8L Air Purifier by Okaysou two thumbs up. I wish I had gotten one years ago, and I'll be gifting this to a couple of family members who smoke and have pets next Christmas for sure. I definitely recommend this product.

That looks like a nice one!
ReplyDeleteMy human is a little sad that we don't need an air purifier the way we used to when Binga and Boodie were around.

ReplyDeleteNice review. I need one for the bedroom. We keep the door shut 24/7 to segregate cats and at night when someone uses the litter box it stinks the room up even when I get right up and scoop. XO
ReplyDeleteI've brooked the idea of air cleaners with The Hubby; we have a couple, but they are ancient. He doesn't make quick decisions, and gets touchy when I push, so I'll keep at him! *wink*
ReplyDeleteDoes it do the whole house? All doors open, of course?
ReplyDeleteWe have been thinking of one of these so thanks for the review
