A few weeks ago The Cat Writers' Association (CWA) sent out a newsletter announcing the winners of Certificates of Excellence for the 2021 Annual Communications Contest. I was very excited to learn that I won 14 Certificates of Excellence this year.
For those who are unfamiliar with the organization, CWA is a global, cat-centric organization that is dedicated to excellence in written, visual, and audio media. The organization is comprised of authors, photographers, videographers, graphic artists, bloggers, people on radio and television, and any other media out there, who share information about cats for the general public.
Here are my entries that won Certificates of Excellence and are finalists for the organization's coveted Muse Medallion:
1. Reduce Your Cat's Stress With the RelaxoPet PRO (Written Article: Product Review)
2. Keep Your Cat Refreshed With the Petlibro Automatic Water Fountain (Written Article: Product Review)
4. Get Rid of Stains and Odors with Kids N' Pets All-Purpose Stain & Odor Remover (Written Article: Product Review)
5. What to do When You Find a Kitten Outdoors (Written Article: Rescue & Advocacy)
6. Eight Ways to Use Your Talents to Help a Shelter (Written Article: Rescue & Advocacy)
7. Lessons I Learned From My Rescued Cat (Written Article: Rescue & Advocacy)
8. 5 Myths About Feral Cats Debunked (Written Article: Rescue & Advocacy)
9. Five Ways You Can Help Feral Cats (Written Article: Rescue & Advocacy)
10. Rescue Stories (Serial Works Entered by an Editor)
11. Lola and Lexy's Top Five Things Responsible Cat Parents Do (Written Article: General/Other)
13. Five Winter Weather Tips to Help Community Cats (Written Article: General Care)
14. Lola and Lexy's Top 5 Cat-Friendly Plants for Easter (Written Article: Health)
An entry wins a Certificate of Excellence if it receives an average score of 90 or higher based on the scores submitted independently by the three judges (all Professional CWA Members) for that category. I judged this year and the caliber of the entries I read was impressive.
In October the winners of the Muse Medallion in each category will be announced at the CWA virtual ceremony. Lola and Lexy are crossing their paws for come wins, even though the competition is very tough.
In 2021 I worked very hard to produce consistent content for the blog. I won't have much to submit next year because my writing slowed down a lot this year, so I will enjoy these certificates and any Muses (if I'm lucky enough to win one.)
Although our participation in the blogosphere has been very sporadic in 2022, I so appreciate all of you who continue to visit and comment. Your comments keep me going and push me to get back into the swing of creating content. I do have plans for more posts in the Community Cat Awareness series, and I'm looking forward to getting back to cat cafes for our Lola on the Road series.
Purrs and hugs to all of you!
Dawn
