Growing up in Rockland County, New York, cats were always a part of my family, and I can remember having a cat in the house most of my life. We never bought a cat or went to a shelter to adopt one - they always found their way to us. Animal rescue came to my attention after adopting Lola and Lexy, both shelter cats. Since that time, I have been an advocate for animal rescue and rights, and have utilized social media outlets to network for animals that need saving. I have also participated in transports, bringing rescued, and previously unwanted, pets to their new forever homes.By day I am a Behavioral Psychologist (working with adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism) and a Licensed Massage Therapist. By night I am a writer and blogger. I started out as a "microblogger" with an active Facebook Page and after publishing my book I branched out and founded my blog in December 2014. I am now proud to be an award-winning writer and blogger. On my blog, I enjoy educating our readers on rescue and advocacy, promoting responsible pet ownership, and sharing tips on how they can give their cats the best lives ever. I have now been writing in the pet industry for over seven years and have been a contributing writer for the Jackson Galaxy Project’s Cat Pawsitive Pro Program, BlogPaws, Pet Radio Magazine, and Chewy.com.
I decided to share Lola’s story to bring attention to animal rescue. When writing my book, I said if I could save the life of just one animal then my mission would be accomplished. You can only imagine my joy when someone posted on my Facebook page that not only did Lola's story inspire her to adopt a cat from the shelter, but she named her new cat Lola.
