Lola: Diary of a Rescued Cat is the witty and sincere rags to riches story of a young cat abandoned in a garbage dumpster. It chronicles Lola’s life beginning with her rescue from the dumpster and continues on to her stay in the shelter system (where she became very ill), her rescue from the shelter, adjustment to her forever family and new feline sibling after being adopted; and, ultimately, her recovery. It is written in the form of her diary, with each entry dated, and includes many beautiful photos. Included in the book are many heartfelt stories of other rescued pets. Lola: Diary of a rescued Cat will make you laugh, cry, and laugh again.

Meet The Author:
Growing up in Rockland County, New York, cats were always a part of Dawn’s family, but animal rescue didn't come to her attention until she adopted a cat from a shelter in 2011. Since that time she has been an advocate for animal rights and has utilized social media outlets to network for animals that need saving. She has also participated in animal rescue transports, assisting in bringing rescued, and previously unwanted, pets to their new forever homes. Dawn’s genuine sense of caring has led her to choose her career path to help others. A dedicated Human Services Professional working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Autism since 1988, she earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology in 1992 and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2014. She lives in New York City with her two cats, Lola and Lexy, who run the house. Dawn says “adopting two shelter cats has truly changed my life.” Lola: Diary of a Rescued Cat is her first book. She has also been a contributing writer for The Jackson Galaxy Project's Cat Pawsitive Pro Program, Pet Radio Magazine, BlogPaws, Chewy.com, and The Contemporary Pet.

Lola: Diary of a Rescued Cat reads like a diary, with each entry dated, and includes many animated photos. Dawn White researched and documented Lola’s beginnings quite well. Lola: Diary of a Rescued Cat is full of action and adventure as we meet her catmate, Lexy, and all the humans in Lola’s life, creating a book which is hard to put down. Cat lovers of all ages are sure to enjoy reading Lola’s life story. Latter chapters detail the rescues of a variety of Lola’s facebook friends, which are also fascinating stories. - Sharon Mohr, Author; Neptune The Special Cat
Lola’s story is a well written account of a lucky kitten who was left in a dumpster at six months of age and through the a string of unlikely events escaped death row after catching a cold in the New York City shelter system. I met Lola only days after she was rescued. She was a mere three pounds with a full face of mucus. It was my 40th Birthday and I had taken the day off. For some reason I felt compelled to meet her. It was only one day before she met her Mommy and found a forever home. Lola: Diary of a Rescued Cat will alternately make your heart hurt and sing. If only all cats were as fortunate as Lola. Let’s do what we can and help Dawn reach her goal by having this book help a few more kitties find their forever homes. - Tamar Arslanian, I HAVE CAT www.ihavecat.com
Lola’s story really touched my heart and soul as an animal rescuer. I cried, I laughed, and I was filled with joy and hope as Lola went from dumpster kitty to princess! Kitties are not trash, they’re treasures! Shonda Barros, Founder and President; Catopia Feline Rescue
