Happy New Year!

Hello and Happy New Year! Did you know that New Year's is one of the oldest holidays still celebrated? It dates back to ancient Babylon, thousands of years ago, where it was celebrated as an 11 day festival on the first day of spring. Many cultures during that time used the sun and moon cycles to determine the first day of the year.  After Julius Caesar invented the Julian calendar, the holiday began to be celebrated on January 1st.

Typical American traditions on New Year's include making resolutions or goals, football, parades, fireworks, eating lucky food (such as pork or black eyed peas), and of course watching the ball drop from Times Square right here in New York City. (BTW, Mommy has never been to Times Square on New Year's Eve and she says she never will.)

Blue Wilderness Wild Cuts Tasty Toppers - A Chewy Review

Hello everyone! This is Lexy checking in with a fab Chewy review.  This month, as part of the Chewy blogger program, I chose some tasty treats to review.  Today I bring you Blue Wilderness Wild Cuts Tasty Toppers.

I have to say, these are quite tasty.  How could they not be? They're made of protein rich chicken, are contain no by-product meals.  And, they contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

We gobbled them up! Did I mention that they're grain free? Lola and I usually pass up the grain free food, but we liked these.

You can give Wild Cuts to your kitties as a treat, or as a topper to their meal of canned or dry food.  The 3-ounce pouches contain nice chunks of chicken in a savory gravy. Yum! Wild Cuts really satisfy the inner wild cut in all of us kitties by providing more of the meat we crave.

With ingredients of Chicken, Chicken Broth, Water, Chicken Liver, Dried Egg Product, Potato Starch, Natural Flavor, Guar Gum, Sodium Phosphate, Salt, Sodium Carbonate, it's a win for both humans and kitties.  (And note that wheat, which is often used as a thickening agent and is known to cause allergies in cats), is not in the ingredient list.

You can purchase Blue Wilderness Wild Cuts from Chewy.com. A case of 24 3-ounce pouches are currently on sale for $35.76. (Regular price is $45.36, which adds up to a 21% savings!) Take advantage of free 1-2 day shipping by placing an order of $49 or more. And if you choose the autoship feature you'll save an additional 5%.

Let us know if you try it, and if your kitties like it.
Lexy

Disclosure: As part of the Chewy blogger program, we received a free case of Blue Wilderness Cuts in exchange for our honest review, but this did not influence our opinions at all.  Lola The Rescued Cat only shares information on products we think will be helpful for our readers.  Chewy is not responsible for the content of this post.

Hello and Happy Sunday! Today I decided to do my selfies when I was waking Mommy up.

The first one was a little off.  It's just my mouth and my paw.

This one is a little better, but a little blurry.

Wake up, Mommy! Time to start the day!

We're joining our friends at The Cat On My Head for the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.  Hop on over and join them!

Why We Don't Wear Christmas Outfits

Hello everyone, this is Lexy checking in.  I'm here today to explain why you do not see pictures of Lola and me in Christmas outfits. Here is the reason:

That was the anguish I had to endure my during first Christmas here.  Once Lola saw this, she said there was no way she was going to wear any kind of hat. As a matter of fact, mother had a moment of absent mindedness and bought us a Santa and reindeer hats to pose in this year. Let's just say she ended up returning them.

Do your humans afflict you with this type of trauma during the holidays?
