1-800-PetMeds Cares™ 2017 Change a Pet’s Life Contest

Hello and Happy Wednesday! We’re teaming up once again with 1-800-PetMeds Cares to bring our readers some exciting information about their third annual Change a Pet’s Life Day contest.

Change a Pet’s Life Day was started in 2009 to encourage pet adoption and draw attention to the many homeless pets in the US. It takes place each year on January 24. 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ introduced the Change a Pet’s Life Contest in 2015 to help homeless pets get the life-changing medical treatment they needed to be adoptable.

In honor of Change a Pet's Life Day on January 24, 2017, 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ is holding the third annual Change a Pet's Life Contest to help adoptable pets in need of medical care. Shelters and animal rescues may enter an adoptable pet and encourage your community to vote for a chance to win up to $2,000 in grants.

Hello, everyone. This is Lexy checking in with our with our monthly Chewy.com review. I was very excited when I read the December choices of products.  I really wanted the Litter Genie Cat Litter Disposal System because I thought it would make a good Christmas gift for Mother. There were only 25 available and I crossed all four paws hoping my request made it in time.  Well, whoever said crossing paws doesn’t work is wrong, because I got one!

Happy New Year 2017 from the White House

Lola: Hello and Happy Saturday Caturday! As 2016 comes to an end, we decided to do some reflection. We’ve never done a “look back” kind of post, so this is our first one ever. To be honest, as new bloggers, we never had much to report on. But now that we’ve been blogging for two years we have a little bit more to look back on.

Stressed by the Vet? Try a Cat Friendly Practice®.

Did you know that the United States is one of the highest ranked cat loving countries? In 2016 Gfk conducted a global study in which more than 27,000 consumers (aged 15 and older) in 22 countries were interviewed online. Results indicated that cats reside in 39% of households in the U.S., ranking below only Russia with 57% and France with 41%.

And according to the U.S. Pet Ownership & Demographics Sourcebook  published by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AMVA), in 2012, 36.1 million households owned cats at that time, with the estimated number of pet cats being 74.1 million. That’s a lot of cats! Which makes me very happy on a personal level. But, that same sourcebook also points out that only 55% of cat owners took their cats to the vet, vs. 81% of dog owners. That statistic is indicative of our beloved felines not receiving the routine medical care they require.
